Another startup, Gonggong, unveiled its water-based air purifier, Swasher, at CES. Instead of using a HEPA filter like conventional air purifiers, Swasher employs a water vortex. As air is drawn into Swasher, it spins and comes into contact with water, causing dust and particles to sink into the water while clean air is released back into the environment.

The device effectively removes harmful airborne substances, such as radon and new house syndrome chemicals, which dissolve in water. By the end of the year, the company plans to launch a new model with enhanced ultrafine dust collection capabilities.

CEO Lee Seon-an stated, “Our product is both economical and eco-friendly because it eliminates the need for filter replacements and does not produce waste.”

After two years, CES 2022, the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibition, was held offline in Las Vegas, USA. This year, a record-breaking 500 Korean companies participated, making Korea the second-largest group of exhibitors after the host nation, the United States.

This marked a stark contrast to the 2020 CES, where approximately 1,200 Chinese companies participated, leading some to call it the “China Electronics Show.” In 2022, however, the number of Chinese companies dropped to around 150, creating a strikingly different landscape.

Korean companies were not only recognized for their sheer number but also garnered global attention for their technological competitiveness, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with leading global companies. Many international attendees praised the innovative and advanced technologies showcased by Korean exhibitors.

Among them, Gonggong Co., Ltd. presented its air purifier, Swasher, at Eureka Park, a section of CES dedicated to groundbreaking ideas that could change the world. Despite having a relatively small booth, Swasher attracted a steady stream of visitors, highlighting the overwhelming interest in this innovative technology.

Swasher gained significant attention for its ability to eliminate harmful airborne substances such as new house syndrome chemicals and radon, both of which dissolve in water. Visitors were particularly impressed by its unique water vortex technology.

We’re deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support, and we promise to continue working hard to meet and exceed your expectations.

Here’s to clean air for everyone—breathe well with Swasher! 💙
