SWASHER

Gonggong Co., Ltd. announced that its water vortex air purifier, Swasher, has been selected as a winner at the Asia Design Prize 2022.

The Asia Design Prize is an international design award established in 2017 and is widely recognized for its credibility. The judging panel consists of 34 experts from 8 countries, including Karim Rashid, one of the world’s top three industrial designers, Andrea Ruggiero, professor at Parsons School of Design, Andy Law, professor at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Thomas Johansson, Design Director at Electrolux, and Yoshimaru Takahashi, professor at Osaka University of Arts.

This year, the competition received 1,830 entries from 29 countries worldwide, and submissions were evaluated across three categories: Space & Architecture, Industrial Design, and Communication Design.
Among the top 10% of submissions, Swasher was selected as a winner for its outstanding innovation in both aesthetic and technological advancements. Built on proprietary patented technology, Swasher significantly reduces energy consumption while enhancing air purification performance, addressing both environmental and energy concerns simultaneously.

Unlike traditional air purifiers, Swasher features a transparent design, offering users greater trust and visibility into the purification process. Additionally, its built-in mood lighting allows users to experience the comfort of purified air while enjoying a mesmerizing rainbow vortex effect.

Swasher previously participated in CES 2022, where it won the Innovation Award. Unlike conventional air purifiers that rely on HEPA filters, Swasher utilizes a water vortex system to maximize the contact area between air and water per unit of time. This breakthrough enables noise reduction, low energy consumption, and the removal of harmful gases, all while eliminating the waste and resource consumption associated with disposable filters.

With a maximum power consumption of just 9Wh per hour, Swasher can run 24/7 for an entire month, costing only around 450 KRW (~$0.35) in electricity bills—one-third the cost of a conventional air purifier.
Swasher is currently available through various online platforms such as Naver Smart Store, Lotte ON, and Today’s House. Additionally, on the 22nd of this month, Swasher will launch a new Black & White edition via Wadiz, Korea’s largest crowdfunding platform.

Gonggong Co., Ltd. CEO Seon-eon Lee expressed his excitement, saying:"We are honored that Swasher has been recognized by a world-class design award like the Asia Design Prize. We will continue to lead the way in providing sustainable indoor air quality management solutions that can be used without causing environmental pollution.”

Swasher's Unique Design Identity

Unlike traditional air purifiers, which often adopt a box-shaped design to conceal frequently contaminated filters,
Swasher takes a boldly transparent approach.

By showcasing its vortex-shaped filtration system,
Swasher allows users to visually observe the air purification process,
ensuring that air is being safely and effectively purified inside the unit.

Swasher’s round and transparent design not only reinforces its brand identity but also enhances its usability.

The LED lighting can be adjusted in color and brightness, allowing it to double as a mood light.

This unique design provides consumers with a sense of safety and trust, while also serving as an elegant interior piece—offering a whole new air purification experience.

We are truly honored that Swasher has received such a prestigious award,

and we will continue to dedicate ourselves to delivering innovation and excellence to you.

Thank you!
Wishing you fresh and clean air today! 💙
